Perhaps you’ve been cornered by a Leo Ryan and gotten lost in an onslaught of words. Or maybe your Grannie hailed from the South and you were treated to all kinds of homemade remedies (see my husband’s Grannie in the photo). Or maybe Andy Garrett is an inspiration and melts your heart, like he does mine!
All of these Cherish-series characters are based on people my husband and I have known and loved. But before you guess their counterparts in real life, keep in mind that many characters (like Leo Ryan) are composites of several people, from a variety of locations. And keep in mind that every character has been fictionalized and type-cast to fit into the storyline. The good people are better than their counterparts and the bad people are worse! That’s one of the privileges of fiction: you can craft and mold identities as needed to drive your story along and to make a bigger-than-life statement. So, each person in my books is a fictionalized, made-up, and purpose-driven “character.” I hope that all of my characters strike a chord in you, either because you identify with them in a particular joy or sorrow, or because they remind you of someone or some incident.
For today’s blog, I thought it might be fun if you would tell me who you find as favorites. WHO, for example, would you like to see in an upcoming Cherish novel?
I appreciate your input. You could inspire some new ideas!
P.S. You could ALSO help me by posting a reader review on a distributor or publisher site. If you purchased or downloaded one or more Cherish books from Amazon.com, please leave a review there. If you frequented BarnesandNoble.com, then post there. If you purchased your copies from me or read someone else’s copy, post a review on WestbowPress.com.
Here are the links to get you to the initial site pages; you will need to scroll to the reader review area from here:

Westbow Press — https://www.debbyljohnston.com/buy/
I have loved the MANY personal reviews I’ve received by email and on Facebook, but I need more reviews on the distributor and publisher sites that are seen by new readers, bookstores, and more! This is a great help to me.
Thank you, friends!
