MY BROTHER COULD BE THE “CHEERIOS KID.” His love of Cheerios started early—around two years old. That’s when my mom awakened to find him propped on his knees in a kitchen chair and shoveling in a bowl of Cheerios he had gotten all by himself. Mom’s Brownie camera recorded the event. Years later during a holiday reunion, we again captured David with his Cheerios (Honey Nut, this time). Remodeling makes it hard to tell, but in both pictures he’s sitting in the same kitchen. And because David and his wife bought our childhood home, if you were to visit David’s kitchen, today, you would still find him enjoying his Cheerios there. Breakfast may come a little later now that he’s has retired, but you can bet it still consists of Cheerios and milk. Congratulations on retirement, Baby Brother, and may you enjoy your Cheerios, forever!
